Alex, Victor Class of 2021 is our next Senior. Now I have known this guy for a few years. So if you have been a long time reader on this blog, you may recognize him. His older brother was one of my 2019 Seniors. Alex took part of that session in some great images of the 3 siblings together. I do have to say, you may look at those old images and not even recognize this guy! Sure it was only 2 years ago, but Alex has changed so much since then.
When we met to talk over what Alex wanted for his session to make it something that would represent who he is and what he loves I can’t say that I was surprised. First, some things at home. This was a great place to capture his love of hockey, integrating a place where he had played for hours with his brothers between games and practices and a jersey that was custom made by his father for him. When we captured his brothers session we used a similar jersey that was created just for him. This one for Alex was similar in that his last name was on the back, written in Ukrainian, representing part of his family heritage. I absolutely LOVE when Seniors embrace things like this that represent important family traditions and cultures that can be appreciated over time.
Second, Alex wanted to go to a local park for more of a nature type vibe. What I love about this location is that it has not only a few different sets of woods, but also a pond. The pond is set up in such a way that it appears to be much larger than it is. It helps that the over all look screams West Coast!
It was such a beautiful day that we were able to get in a nice walk down a trail, some time on the dock and even out onto a little peninsula before some fisher(wo)men came along to catch their dinner for the day. It is possible someone was in the water to make sure they got the shot they wanted-shhhh don’t tell! 😉
In the end, we had so many great options for Alex. It was a fun session and I still can’t believe that 2 of the 3 young men in this family are going to be graduates. It has been such an honor to work with this family for each of these milestones!
